About Us

Our mission

“Waterloo Recreation” is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to providing affordable adult recreation to the KW region since 2011.  Organized team sports have numerous benefits in terms of physical health, mental health, and building social connections.  The goal of the league is to remove the financial barrier that may prevent some individuals from enjoying these benefits.

Individuals and new teams in the league can join for free.  Individuals can play for free indefinitely.  Returning teams are encouraged to pay $250/$200 per season to cover the cost of the gym rentals and dodgeballs.

Who are we

Noah Forrin formed the league and is the Wednesday league convener.  He’s a postdoctoral researcher at McMaster University and an adjunct lecturer at the University of Waterloo who specializes in educational psychology research (specifically on learning and memory in the classroom).  Noah can be contacted via the “Contact” page above.
